PAA members are gearing up for the one-week Spring Show, which takes place June 11 – 17 at the Penfield Community Center, 1985 Baird Road, Penfield, N.Y.
Last year, 63 members presented 167 paintings, and this year’s show should offer a similar array of works in all media.
The opening reception and awards ceremony will take place 7 –– 9 p.m. Monday, June 11. The show can be viewed 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. Monday – Thursday (June 11 – June 14); 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Friday (June 15); 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Saturday (June 16); 2 – 3 p.m. Sunday (June 17). Show members are on hand at all times to answer questions about the art, much of which will be available for purchase.
The judge for this year’s show is Rochester painter and noted teacher Jeanne Lindsay. She earned her BA from Empire State College (SUNY) and also studied at Duke University and Rochester Institute of Technology. Her work has been selected for numerous national juried exhibits and she has received more than 100 honors and awards including membership in Watercolor USA Honor Society. Her work has been featured three times in American Artist magazine. In Rochester, she is represented by Nan Miller Gallery.
Formed in 1963, the Penfield Art Association today has more than 100 members from throughout the Rochester area. The organization is open to artists of all skill levels and people interested in the two-dimensional visual arts.
