Megan Metildi, who will graduate from Penfield High School in June, will receive the annual Penfield Art Association student award for 2019.
An exhibit of her artwork will be included in the PAA 2019 Spring Show, which takes place June 3 – 8 at the Penfield Community Center, 1985 Baird Road. Metildi will receive her award at the reception and awards ceremony 7 – 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 4.
Metildi, the daughter of Ingrid and Alec Metildi, will enter SUNY Alfred this fall majoring in digital media and animation. Her goal is to pursue a career in the field of animation, working in video game design.
Megan says she has always loved art but began to pursue her interest more seriously when she started high school. Her other passion is the sport of curling, and she has participated in many competitions through the Rochester Curling Club.
PAA has presented a cash award to a PHS senior each year since 1976. The student is selected by the school’s art faculty.
The Penfield Art Association’s 55th annual spring exhibit features 150 works by 54 local artists.
