A demonstration of oil painting techniques by Finger Lakes artist Nancy Lane will open the Penfield Art Association’s 2019-20 season. The presentation, which is free and open to the public, follows a brief business meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17.
Lane worked as a professional illustrator for 30 years. Her work was published in more than 25 children’s books by multiple publishers. Recently, she has focused on fine art, including landscapes and portraits. “I strive to create realistic, narrative paintings that express a certain mood or feeling,” Lane says.
A Penfield native, she attended Webster schools before studying art at Rochester Institute of Technology, Parsons School of Design in New York City and Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore. She is a signature member of the Rochester Art Club and has received numerous honors including best-in-show awards. For more information, visit her website: nancylanestudio.com
