descended upon Mendon Ponds Park and learned to paint plein air.  Painting plein air landscape was the membership’s majority vote for our yearly free to PAA members workshop.  This is one of the perks of a PAA membership. Last year it was pastel over a watercolor under-painting with Christine Waara.  Who knows what the popular topic or instructor will be next year.  Here are what the instructor and one member of the group said about the day:

I think it was fabulous. the participants were wonderful…. we became a friendly, happy team of painters.  They never thought they’d have so much fun on a cloudy day! We were warm and dry.  For part of the day it didn’t rain….just beautiful soft colors, no wind, warm temperatures, quiet and solitude….for few folks were in the park.  We painted at the shelter on the edge of the overhang to get the ambient light, yet not get wet from the drizzle.”

“It was the most fun I have had in the rain!”
