An exhibit of 150 paintings by more than 50 area artists will be on display in the 10th Annual Penfield Art Association at Legacy at Willow Pond Autumn Art Show and Sale.
The exhibit opens Sunday, Sept. 28, and runs through Friday, Oct. 24. An opening reception takes place 3 to 5 p.m. Sept. 28. A closing reception and awards presentation will be 7 to 9 p.m. Oct. 24. The show is open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.
The artwork can be viewed throughout Legacy at Willow Pond, an independent senior living community at 40 Willow Pond Way, Penfield.
A series of free presentations by artists begins with Alice Chen’s demo of traditional sumi painting during the opening reception. Three additional talks will take place 1-2 p.m. each Monday as follows: Corky Geck, acrylic, Oct. 6; Margot Fass, artist/author, Froggy Family’s First Frolic, Oct. 13;Kristina Hutch Matthews, pen and ink, artist/author, The Cat Flap, Oct. 20.
A special feature of this show is a salute to the Town of Penfield with an award category for works depicting local scenes and landmarks.
The autumn show is one of three annual exhibits presented by the Penfield Art Association. Formed in 1963, the Penfield Art Association today has more than 100 members from throughout the Rochester area.
