Recent paintings in a variety of media will be on display throughout February as the Penfield Art Association presents its 2018 Winter Show in the Community Room at Barnes & Noble, 3349 Monroe Ave., Pittsford, N.Y.
The exhibit is open daily Saturday, Feb. 3, through Sunday, Feb. 25, during store hours, 9 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday. A reception and awards ceremony will take place 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10. Best of show, six juror awards and six merit awards will be presented.
The juror for this year’s show is Rochester artist Jean Stephens. A native of Rochester, she received a bachelor of fine arts and a masters degree in art education from Rochester Institute of Technology. Additionally, she studied with the late Thomas Buechner and Thomas Insalaco. Her paintings have been selected for local and national juried exhibitions and are included in private and corporate collections. She is currently represented by the Oxford Gallery in Rochester.
Formed in 1963, the Penfield Art Association today has more than 100 members from throughout the Rochester area. The organization is open to artists of all skill levels and anyone interested in the two-dimensional visual arts.
