Recent paintings in a variety of media will be on display throughout February as the Penfield Art Association presents its 2017 Winter Show in the Community Room at Barnes & Noble, 3349 Monroe Ave., Pittsford, N.Y.
The exhibit is open daily Monday, Feb. 6, through Sunday, Feb. 26, during store hours, 9 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday. A reception and awards ceremony will take place 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11. Best of show, six juror awards and six merit awards will be presented.
The juror for this year’s show is Rochester artist Olivia Kim. Kim is a member of the Rochester Art Club and also teaches at her studio in the Hungerford Building. She has been featured in the American Art Collector magazine and has had articles in Art House Print magazine and Rochester magazine. She attended the School of the Arts in Rochester and the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University.
Co-chairs of this show are Jane June of Farmington and Joy Argento of Walworth.
Formed in 1963, the Penfield Art Association today has more than 100 members from throughout the Rochester area. The organization is open to artists of all skill levels and anyone interested in the two-dimensional visual arts.
