Spring Show Winners Announced

Awards for the 2012 Penfield Art Association Spring Show were presented at the opening reception on June 11. The show is on view at the Penfield Community Center, 1985 Baird Road until June 17.

The winners are:
Best of Show: “Velvet Edges” by Marty Sweeney.

Best Portrait: “Emily,” Erika Hutch.

Best small Work: “Weeping Willow,” Chloe Bennette-Larson.

Juror Awards:
“The Fence Overlooking a River,” Jackie Bailey; “Hemingway’s Bedroom Window, Key West” and “Brunch at Pepe’s, Key West,” Teresa Barlis; “Joy,” Alice W. Chen;  “Brown Jug in Still Life” and “Catching Crayfish,” Sandra Grana-Taylor;  “Sublime Reflections,” Georgia Hoke-Micoli;  “Pittsford Farm,” Doris Hooker; “Couch Potatoes,” Erika Hutch; “Squaw Valley Ski Trials in Summer,” Richard Kalkman; “Koi Pond,” Brenda Lyness; “Putting Dishes Away,” Florence Mooney; “Midnight Breaking,” Tom Sweeney; “Shoreline,” Rose Welch.

Richard Thomas received a Body of Work Juror Award for his paintings in total.

Chen; “Peter Hoysic,” Karl Corder; “Sterling’s Peonies,” Debra Donnelly; “Floral 2,” Eileen Goldgeier; “Twain Hearts,” Georgia Hoke-Micoli; “Seneca Lake at Geneva” and “Backyard Sunset,” Doris Hooker; “Birds in Flight Over Currituck Sound, N.C.,” Bill McCullough; “Mac’s in Time Out,” Marilyn Nosky; “It’s a Feeling,” Theresa Sweeney; “The Aggie Gray Ferry,” Kathy Warren; “Old Vines,” Rose Welch; “Merry Birds of Christmas,” Dennis Wentworth; “Lake Placid I” and “Lake Placid II,” Bea Wolford.

The judge was Rochester painter and noted teacher Jeanne Lindsay.
