Winter Show at Barnes & Noble Opens Jan. 31

A juried exhibit of paintings by PAA members will be on display in the annual Penfield Art Association Winter Show and Sale at Barnes & Noble Pittsford (NY)  store location.

The exhibit opens Monday, Jan. 31, and runs until Saturday, Feb. 26. The show is open daily during Barnes & Noble store hours. Due to the COVID upsurge, the reception and awards presentation has been cancelled.

The judge is noted watercolor artist and Finger Lakes native Valerie Larsen. She is a member of two national groups, the National Watercolor Society and Watercolor USA Honor Society. Larsen’s work appears in six Splash watercolor books and she has participated in numerous national exhibits. She has taught workshops and is an instructor of watercolor at her studio. .

The show will be accompanied by an online exhibit featuring many of the pieces in the live show. That exhibit will open on this website Jan. 31.

The Winter Art Show and Sale is one of three annual exhibits presented by the Penfield Art Association. Formed in 1963, the Penfield Art Association today has more than 70 members from throughout the Rochester area. The organization is open to artists of all skill levels and people interested in the two-dimensional visual arts. (Posted Jan. 6, 2022)
