Penfield Art Association’s popular Spring Show and Sale returns to the Penfield Community Center for the first time since 2019, after having online shows in 2020 and 2021. An exhibit of paintings by area artists will be on display at Penfield Community Center at 1985 Baird Rd., Penfield NY, in the Community Room.

“Japanese Garden,” watercolor, by Linda Delaney was an award-winner in last year’s spring show.

The exhibit opens Monday, June 6, and runs until Saturday, June 11. The show is open daily during library hours: 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday. A reception and awards presentation takes place 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 7.

Also opening on June 6 is a virtual companion exhibit on this website.

The judge for this show is local watercolor artist and instructor Paul Allen Taylor.  Taylor is noted for rendering landscapes and he enjoys plein air painting. “He finds no greater joy than to be outside in the quiet spaces, harbors and shorelines, capturing in paint that which captures his eye.”

The Spring Art Show and Sale is one of three annual exhibits presented by the Penfield Art Association. Formed in 1963, PAA today has more than 70 members from throughout the Rochester area. The organization is open to artists of all skill levels and people interested in the two-dimensional visual arts.
