An exhibit of new work by PAA members will be on display at the Penfield Community Center, 1985 Baird Road, Penfield, Monday, June 2, through Saturday, June 7.
“Spring Thaw,” a watercolor by Claudine Bartlett, will be featured in the PAA Spring Show.
A reception and awards ceremony takes place 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, June 3. The show is open 9:30 a.m.-8:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday, June 2-5; 9:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday, June 6; and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, June 7.
Many of the paintings are for sale, in addition to note cards and prints. A companion online exhibit will open on this website on June 2.
The judge for this show is award-winning artist, Lanna Pejovic. She studied art at Rochester Ins0tute of Technology, the Accademia di Belle Art in Florence, Italy, and Tyler School of Art in Rome. She received her BFA and MFA in painting at Tyler School in Philadelphia and taught at Rochester Institute of Technology for more than 30 years, retiring in 2020. She has also taught drawing and painting at the Creative Workshop of Rochester’s Memorial Art Gallery and at SUNY Geneseo and currently teaches and serves on the board of directors at the Mill Art Center & Gallery in Honeoye Falls, NY. She has exhibited widely in the Rochester region and internationally and her work is in numerous private and public collections.
The Spring Art Show and Sale is one of three annual exhibits presented by the Penfield Art Association. Formed in 1963, the Penfield Art Association today has members from throughout the Rochester area.
