A juried exhibit of recent paintings by PAA members will be on display Feb. 3-March 1 in the annual Penfield Art Association Winter Show and Sale at Barnes & Noble, 3349 Monroe Ave., Pittsford.
The opening reception and awards ceremony is at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5. The show is open every day in the second floor community room during Barnes & Noble store hours.
A companion online show will be on view starting Feb. 5 on the PAA website.
The judge for the show is Steve BonDurant, an award-winning landscape painter and frequent local and national show judge. He earned his AAS in painting and BFA in medical illustration from Rochester Institute of Technology and has studied in France and Italy. Steve is a founding members of Pittsford Fine Art and exhibits and teaches at the Pat Rini Rohrer Gallery in Canandaigua. He is a signature member of the Rochester Art Club, a founding signature member of Genesee Valley Plein Air Painters, and paints most Saturdays, year-round, with the All-Weather Gang, a group of outdoor painters that formed in the 1980s.
Co-chairs for this show are Nancy Mallo and Susan Fredericks Hodes, with assistance from past chair Linda Delaney.
The Winter Art Show and Sale is one of three annual exhibits presented by the Penfield Art Association. Formed in 1963, PAA today has more than 60 members from throughout the Rochester area. The organization is open to artists of all skill levels and people interested in the two-dimensional visual arts.
