An exhibit of recent work by PAA members will be on display at the Penfield Community Center, 1985 Baird Road, Penfield, Monday, June 1, through Saturday, June 6.
A reception and awards ceremony takes place 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, June 2. The show is open 9:30 a.m.-8:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday, June 1-4; 9:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday, June 5; and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, June 6.
The show will feature 131 paintings, including 11 in a special "Small Works" category. An additional display of 18 artworks is in a showcase outside the main exhibit room. Many of the paintings are for sale, in addition to note cards and prints.
Also part of the Spring Show is a selection of work by this year's PAA Student Award Winner, who will be announced later this month.
A companion online exhibit will open on this website on June 1.
Jean Stephens
The awards judge for this show is Jean Stephens, who holds a BFA in printmaking and painting and a Masters in Art Education from Rochester Institute of Technology. She works in a variety of media including oil, encaustics, graphite drawing, printmaking and collage. Her work has been selected for national juried exhibitions and is included in both private and corporate collections. She currently offers art instruction at the Mill Art Center and Gallery in Honeoye Falls.
The Spring Art Show and Sale is one of three annual exhibits presented by the Penfield Art Association. Formed in 1963, the Penfield Art Association today has more than 60 members from throughout the Rochester area.
