Eighth Annual Autumn Show at Legacy at Willow Pond opens Sept. 30

More than 150 paintings by more than 50 area artists will be on display in the Eighth Annual Penfield Art Association/Legacy at Willow Pond Autumn Art Show and Sale.

The exhibit opens Sunday, Sept. 30, and runs through Friday, Oct. 26. An opening reception takes place 2 to 4 p.m. Sept. 30. A closing reception and awards presentation will be 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26. Daily hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The artwork can be viewed throughout Legacy at Willow Pond, an independent senior living community at 40 Willow Pond Way, Penfield.

A series of free demonstrations by members begins with Alice Chen’s presentation of sumi art during the opening reception. Four other demos will take place 2 to 4 p.m. each Thursday in the second floor multipurpose room as follows: Suzi Zefting-Kuhn, pet portraits, Oct. 4; Barbara Rice, oil painting, Oct. 11; Christine Waara, watercolor, Oct. 18; Sandy Grana Taylor, portraits, Oct. 25.

A special feature of this show is a salute to the Town of Penfield with an award category for paintings depicting local scenes and landmarks.
The autumn show is one of three annual exhibits presented by the Penfield Art Association.

Formed in 1963, the Penfield Art Association today has more than 100 members from throughout the Rochester area. The organization is open to artists of all skill levels and people interested in the two-dimensional visual arts.
