PAA’s 2021 Virtual Spring Show and Sale, which opens on this website June 1, will feature 70 paintings submitted by 29 members.
The diverse show includes landscapes, portraits, florals, seascapes and abstracts in oil, watercolor, acrylic, colored pencil, pastel, alcohol ink and octopus ink. Assemblage and collage pieces are also among the creative work exhibited. Many award-winning artists are represented.
The judge is Rochester artist Rosa Montante, who will chose best of show, eight juror and eight merit award winners to be announced when the show opens June 1. Montante is a National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society Signature Member, a NOAPS board member, an American Women Artists Associate with Distinction and an oil painting instructor, sharing her passion for the Old Masters’ process with aspiring artists.
The Spring Show and Sale show, which traditionally takes place at the Penfield (NY) Recreation Center, is one of three annual exhibits presented by the Penfield Art Association. Due to the Covid19 pandemic, all PAA shows have been online since June 2020.
Formed in 1963, the Penfield Art Association today has more than 70 members from throughout the Rochester area. The organization is open to artists of all skill levels and people interested in the two-dimensional visual arts.
