The Penfield Art Association was recognized for contributions to the town at the Penfield Town Board meeting Dec. 3.

Karl Corder, Flo Mooney, Karen Bader and Marilyn Nosky represented PAA at the meeting. Flo – who has been a member since 1964 – spoke  about the history of the group. Town Supervisor Jeff Leenhouts applauded Flo’s 60+ years and Karl’s 50+ years of membership. Mr. Leenhouts presented the group with a certificate and thanked the PAA as a group that promotes creativity and cultural enrichment in our community.

The PAA members presented the board with Kathy Lindsley’s watercolor painting of the historic Alpheus Clark House, which was acquired by the town in 2018 along with the entire former Shadow Pines Golf Club property. Formerly a popular restaurant, The Clark House is currently being rehabilitated with a plan of converting it into an event space available for rental. The Shadow Pines property has become part of the Penfield Town park system.
