Nancy Mallo’s pastel Orangutan took Best of Show honors in the Penfield Art Association’s 2024 Winter Show. John Heister received a Body of Work award for his three paintings titled Mist on the Water (watercolor), At Rest on the Beach (oil) and In Chaipas, Mexico (oil).

Juror Awards went to six artists: Robin Annlot (The Rift); Karen Bader (Brecon Beacons, Wales); Betty Bird (Passages); Kathy Houston (The Majesty of Poppies); Erika Hutch (Portrait of a Young Girl); Andrea Nadel (Scottish Dream)

Six Merit Awards went to: Doug Bloom (Autumn, Great Range, Mirror Lake, NY); Susan Fredericks Hodes (Autumn Joy); Eileen Goldgeier (Saturday in the Park); Doris Hooker (Vibrations in the Soul); Marilyn Nosky (Bourbon Barrel Aging, Old Pogue); Ellen Simon (Wildflowers)

The judge for the show is award-winning regional artist Kevin Feary. A longtime member of the All-Weather Gang, Kevin is a signature member of both the Genesee Valley Plein Air Painters and the Rochester Art Club, an associate member of the Oil Painters of America and the National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society. Feary teaches plein air and portrait workshops and demonstrates for art groups locally and across the United States.

Awards were presented at a reception on Wednesday, Feb. 7. The show runs until Saturday, March 2, at Barnes & Noble, 3349 Monroe Ave., Pittsford, NY. It is open every day during store hours.
